Day 61 - Witnessing
We are here to be a witness for justice and compassion. Those who practice nonviolence look at injustice or cruelty and know that it is possible for the situation to be different.
Reflection
- Practitioners of nonviolence are motivated to act when they witness injustice.
- Be willing to stand up for truth by your presence, your words and your actions.
Action
- What can you do to bring about peaceful change?
- How can you stand up for peace in your life?
- Write your ideas down.
“Virtually every atrocity in the history of humankind was enabled by a populace that turned away from a reality that seemed too painful to face, while virtually every revolution for peace and justice has been made possibly by a group of people who chose to bear witness and demanded that others bear witness as well.”
Melanie Joy
“Witnessing a selfless act brings tears to remind us how we should be treating others.”
Bryant McGill
“When witnessing to those closest to us, sometimes the only way we can get through to them is to set an example.”
